Our Interactive Map is a tool that allows you to:
- View maps of the south-west and the rest of England, showing the data the four regional projects are gathering to inform the planning of Marine Conservation Zones.
- Add your own information about which areas of sea are important to you.
The primary role of the Interactive Map is to allow all sea users to share their information with the project, so we have an accurate picture of how the seas in the south-west are used for sea angling, diving, fishing, sailing, kayaking, for watersports and by charter boat operators. This information will be used by the Steering Group to help them plan Marine Conservation Zones carefully.
We also see it as an important communication tool as it shows you the diversity and range of information that is being used by the Finding Sanctuary project. We hope that you discover more about the relationship between mankind and the coasts and seas of the south-west.
