Richard White

Richard White is Senior Marine Advocacy Officer with Devon Wildlife Trust.  Coming to marine conservation after learning to dive in Scotland he gained an MSc in Marine Resource Development and Protection from Heriot-Watt University in 1993.  He has worked for DWT for over 15 years, starting as Warden at Wembury Voluntary Marine Conservation Area in 1994 where he led public Rockpool Rambles and activities for school children.  Since then he has moved into a marine policy role - and away from the beach!  He works closely with The Wildlife Trusts’ national marine team, work that for the past few years has focused on the Marine and Coastal Access Act.  He sees the delivery of an effective MPA network as crucial for the future of marine ecosystems and all those that depend on them.
